Cuban Sliders

Cuban Sliders

The Cuban Sandwich also called the Cubano, was made popular in South Florida after many Cubans settled here in the early part of the 20th century. These mini / slider versions are a nod to their OG counter part. They’re perfect for snacking and also make a great finger food for your next party. Super easy to make in one big batch with no mess.

Serves 4

Ingredients

12 Hawaiian Style Dinner Rolls (Whole Foods brand is Vegan)

8 Slices of Vegan Smoked Turkey (I used Tofurky brand)

8 slices of Vegan Ham or Bologna ( I used Yves brand)

8 slices Vegan Provolone Cheese ( I like Violife and Follow Your Heart)

4-5 Dill Pickles sliced lengthwise (I use Bubbies)

3-4 Tbsp (45-60g) or to taste Yellow Mustard

1 -2 tsp (5-10 g) Vegan Butter melted

Directions

1. Keep the Rolls together and slice them in half like one large roll.

2. Spread an even layer of Mustard on the bottom layer. I like Mustard so I applied it to both the top and bottom.

3. Layer the slices of Bologna, Smoked Tofurky and then the Cheese.

4. Top with the sliced Pickles and close the sandwiches with the top layer of Rolls.

5. Brush the tops with the melted butter and bake at 400 for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and the cheese is a little melty.
