Creamy Dijon & Turmeric Brussels Sprouts
This was a happy recipe experiment that happened while making a sauce for some pan roasted brussels sprouts.
Ingredients
1 Package of Organic Brussels Sprouts
1/3 Small Onion
2 Tsps of Dijon Mustard
2 tsp of Bragg’s Liquid Aminos or you can use light Tamari
1/2 tsp of Turmeric Powder
1/2 tsp of Dried Thyme
1/3 cup Raw Soaked Cashews
1/2 cup water
Salt & Pepper to taste
Directions
1. Soak the Cashews in hot water for at least 30 minutes. Make sure to drain and rinse them before setting aside to blend
2. Trim the ends of the Brussels Sprouts and peel away any discolored or dirty layers
3. Give the Brussels Sprouts a quick wash and slice any large ones in half
4. Chop and sauté the Onion until translucent
5. Add the Brussels Sprouts to the pan and sauté them. Turning them over occasionally to make sure that all sides are cooking. They should become charred or have caramelization on them.
5. Blend together the Water, Bragg’s, Cashews, Dijon, Turmeric and Spices until creamy
6. Pour over the Brussels Sprouts and Onion mixture and heat through
