Chicago Style Mini Dogs
Chicago Style Mini Dogs
These little Chicago inspired hot dog bites are the perfect snack or party food. They are super easy to make with store bought crescent dough. While they don’t have all of the elements of an actual Chicago dog they do have the essence. Make sure to serve them with plenty of Chicago style green relish, sport peppers and according to any Chicagoan never ketchup! You can also check out my Chicago Dog recipe here!
Makes 16 mini dogs (recipe can easily be doubled)
Ingredients
1 Package (8) Vegan Hot Dogs cut in half
1 package (8 count) Vegan Crescent Rolls
2 Dill Pickles, cut in half and quartered
2 Tbsp (30g) Yellow Mustard
2 Tbsp (30ml) Vegan Liquid Egg or melted Vegan Butter
Celery Salt
Poppy Seeds

Spicy Option
If you like things on the spicier side, add a small sport pepper to the hot dog and dill pickle before rolling.
Directions
1.Unroll the crescent dough and using a pizza cutter or knife, cut each triangle into two smaller triangles.
2.Brush each triangle with yellow mustard and sprinkle with celery salt. Place a cut hot dog and cut dill pickle at the wide end of the triangle. Gently roll them up and place them top side up (with the narrow end of the dough on top) onto a lined baking sheet.
3.Brush the tops of the dough with a bit of vegan liquid egg or melted vegan butter. Top with a generous sprinkling of poppy seeds. Bake at 375 for 11-14 minutes or until golden brown.
4.Serve with Chicago style green relish, yellow mustard and sport peppers.
